The holiday catalogs were mailed a week ago, and the phones have begun to ring and the internet orders are heating up as the early birds line up their gifts for Thanksgiving, Chanukah, and Christmas.  No one has given a Kwanza gift that I recall, but coffee works then too   Naturally, I enjoy answering the phone and chatting with the customers, but even processing the online orders makes me smile, as I see familiar names and remember visits in the cafe, and also see new names as someone gives us a first try.  It is all so exciting, but I still wish I could just hang out in the cafe all summer!
