November 2009 News

Greetings, Coffee Lover!

THE BIG NEWS in Glen Arbor these days is that the Narrows Bridge has reopened, and it is beautiful. We’ve talked about the closure for months; speculated on its opening; and now all we can talk about is that it is indeed open. One of the great discoveries is that south of the bridge is Melba Ann’s Restaurant. They serve breakfast all day, and also lunch and dinner, and in a few days will feature Leelanau Coffee in their lineup. Welcome aboard, and enjoy your new connection to Glen Arbor!

The Holiday Catalog will go into the mail November 6th, and most of you will receive it within a week. Changing the size of the catalog has vastly sped up the delivery, we found. If you don’t have it by Thanksgiving, do give us a call and we’ll mail one to you directly. There are a couple new boxes, and a very special Mud of the Month Club offering, so keep your eyes peeled.

Early Bird Gift Orders (phone, mail, or online) receive a 10% discount when placed before November 21st.  If you would like multiple gifts to be sent to you, just make one order.  If you’d like us to deliver them to your recipient, make out individual orders.  Either way, use the coupon code “gift” (without the quotes) to secure your Early Bird 10% discount, select your desired delivery date, and in the comments area you can tell us your card greeting.  Of course, you may also phone us at 800/424-5282 where one of our elves will gleefully assist you!

We are about to make some changes in our shipping, and this will give you more options, and probably even save you some money. It should roll out in a week or two, and I will send a special email outling the changes.

I think we hit the peak of autumn color last weekend, and now the forest floor is looking more colorful than the trees. As my dog Moose runs through the woods, it is easy to track him by the flurry of leaves in his wake. While motivated by the calls of chipmunks, he’s yet to come close to catching those quick critters. This Moose & ‘munk show closely resembles cat & mouse, and is quite humorous for me (though not so much for Moose). Before we hit the woods tonight, I’ll have cut down the garden around the patio, and put away all but a couple of chairs. It’s time to think about hanging the icicle lights, and the Pajama Party on Friday morning, November 27th, from 5-7 a.m.

Wow, that’s a big update. Thanks for reading to the end. Watch for the Catalog, and we’ll see some of you bright and early at the Pajama Party!
