When I strolled down the quiet(er) streets of Glen Arbor for lunch at Riverfront today, I waved at a few locals as they drove by, on their way to the last Farmers Market of the summer. Stepping into Riverfront, all the tables were full, and we all began the customary exchange of greetings, and then it hit me: I knew everyone there, and they were all locals! They have emerged from hosting family on the lake, returned from weddings out of state, and it was just a five-minute window when no tourists were in the mix. While that is fun to notice now, it will be sad soon enough when all those happy vacationers are gone.
