I get a number of questions about coffee maker maintenance, so figured I’d make a special post which will be easier to find. Brew two cups of vinegar (16 ounces) through the reservoir, then run through two full pots of water. If you can, check the temperature of the water as it comes out of the funnel: it should be above 170 degrees, and ideally in the 185-200 degree range (for the best extraction). Finally, make sure the basket and carafe are spotless (it is fine to run them through the diswasher), and that you’ve wiped the bitter residue off of the spray area (warm, soapy water does the trick). All of this will keep your Leelanau coffee tasting its best!
