Lately I’ve notice many raptors in the air, around Leelanau County, but also on my drive downstate.  In particular my impression is that there are the same numbers of Turkey Vultures, but many more Haws and Falcons.  Yesterday I spotted two different Falcons with fresh catches.  Could it be it’s taken this long to recover from DDT?  In any event I’m hopeful that more raptors mean less troublesome rodents around the house!
