…is this thing on? It’s strange to type a note to an audience of zero, but I must start somewhere. It’s a hot and muggy morning, but I’m enjoying my Kenya decaf and the air conditioning. The guys in the roasting room are not liking the heat, however.
The grass has really grown this week, even without fertilizer. We’ve had 0.8″ of rain, and now with some heat, my sparse lawn of mostly weeds has taken off! On the good side, the gardens are also springing to life, and it looks as though everything but two ferns survived the winter. This giant toad (about 6″ long in the body) hopped by the other day, but I don’t think he’s taken up residence in the pond.
Just moved a freezer with Steve and Randy, and now am going to the Bay to see a 102-year-old freighter anchored there!

Is that toad really blue?
Hey! That toad is the nearly-extinct Great Blue SleepingBearii! I can just make out its leg band. Where’d it go?
